The 'Country Roads of southern Italy and Sicily tour' begins

2/5
Finally a bit of a free day to ....... wash clothes.
We used our last non-tour morning to wash clothes in the dodgiest laundromat in Rome.
Thank god for a friendly Australian couple who had just worked out how it worked and were able to help out.  Every time we go to a laundromat, we need and receive help from a friendly and older Australian couple.  They are everywhere. one day it might be us.

The night of the 2/5 was the first night of our tour and we were to meet for a bus trip to a restaurant near the Coliseum for dinner.  After an aptly named 'light dinner' we chose to do the Rome by night tour. we saw Sophia Loren's house, the  wedding cake building and Mussolini's house. some of these plus other buildings whose origins I have forgotten are below.

it rained the whole time.
