 Inside St Peter's Basilica-

St John 23rd, recently canonized

 from outside, amazing

From outside with a view of the Sistine chapel (only photo of the Sistine chapel allowed , none allowed inside)  Sistine Chapel is spectacular and amazing but you will never never know if  you never never go......

In the afternoon we went to the Colliseum, Paul's third attempt.  Too quick but inspiringly amazing.

That night we were to return to the Colosseum to see a 3D light show outdoors on what we imagine a Coliseum show would have been like. We were meeting the man with the beer and his family.  The weather was freezing and rain threatened.  You have to love Rome and the entrepreneurialness of its citizens. The previous night, as it started to rain, there suddenly appeared people selling raincoats and umbrellas. On the night we were to see the show, it was cold and suddenly there were people, same people selling wraps and umbrellas.  You feel the need, and they are there  to sell it to you.  Unfortunately after suffering the cold, and buying the requisite wrap (beautiful indian cotton, first rate quality from a street salesperson),  the show was cancelled due to the rain.
